Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was selected Wednesday as rookie of the year. He became a player in the Bulls of others to receive this award, in addition Michael Jordan and Elton Brand. In the ballot, received 111 first-place votes and 574 points in a voting panel of writers and sportscasters.

Before Wednesday, Rose did not mean anything about the award, he even said he did not mind that, but the truth was that he cared much, he wanted this win more than anything year. But he did not say until he learned that he was indeed the rookie of the year. He said he knew there was a lot of talented players out there to go against, but always hoped I could win. Since the beginning of the season, Rose has created a big impression with his talent and passion for the game. Was named rookie of the month in November, December and March.
He helped the Bulls to reach his fourth playoff in the last five years and started with a contribution of 36 points, 11 assists in his team's victory in Game 1 of the first round against the defending champions the Boston Celtics on the road, a laudable achievement for the first postseason game of his career.
